VenterraLiving.com
As an Interactive Designer at Resite Online, one project I’m very fond of was VenterraLiving.com. In a team-oriented environment, it’s very rare for one person to begin a project and see it through to completion. However, I won that privilege for this project, and the feedback on it was fantastic.
The final product was a website that had a cleanly designed homepage, simple navigation, and luxurious content page layouts.
One thing I accomplished with this design was identifying which role each navigation link played, and ensured that only navigation links that played the same role were grouped together. It’s a usability design issue that not all graphic designers think about. Some people would rather create beautiful looking design, and not become usability geeks – and I certainly can’t blame them for that. I, however, do want to be a usability geek, and that is reflect very well in this website’s design.
In fact, usability tests were performed on this site, to help ensure its interface was intuitive, and could easily be understood by visitors.
Ultimately, this site was deemed a crown jewel in Resite’s portfolio. One sales representative went so far as to say this site was an effective sales tool for him, making it easier to excite new sales prospects.
