St. Andrews Apartments
Teamwork is an important skill for modern web designers. St. Andrews Apartments was a site with a homepage designed by fellow Resite Online designer Craig Hoggat, and I was responsible for designing content pages that carry on the themes established by the homepage. I really admired Craig’s work with this site, and I worked to ensure that what I added to it had the same level of quality that was already in the home page.
In addition to supplementing the homepage, this project also focused on increasing the quality of the content pages. With the transition from designs optimized for 800 pixel-wide screens to designs intended for 1024 pixel-wide screens, many older content page conventions needed to be challenged. Although we had more pixels to work with in our layouts, the amount of content did not make a reciprocal increase, and that led to some great creative challenges for our team.
This showed most on the photos and floor plans pages, where users could flip through images by clicking on arrow buttons that were large, easy to target with the mouse, and anchored the layout elegantly.
