About Dan Hiester
I can sum myself up by saying I am fascinated by design. Call it an obsession. I think about it. I lose sleep over it. I design things at work, and when I get time by myself over the weekend, I design some more. I primarily design websites, but I have also designed magazines and brochures in the past, and believe that the differences between web and print are only technical. Solid technique still relies on many of the same foundations across each type of media.

But that's not to say I'm only interested in graphic design. All aspects of design fascinate me. When I rode the Tube in London, I examined the different handrails installed in different train cars, and pondered what the rationale was for each design. I own both a Nintendo DS and a Wii, which allow me to experience other designers' experiments in human-computer interaction design.
When I'm not designing, I'm cooking exotic food for my fiancé, playing videogames, writing blog posts, shooting photos and hanging out with friends – all while still thinking about design.
